B.H.M.S. has the honor to welcome every year the most prestigious Hospitality employers from over the world, who meet our students and help them boost their future career.
The B.H.M.S. ‘Meet the Industry – Career Days’ Event, was created to give the opportunity to international companies present their brand, their locations around the world and a large variety of working positions for the students to choose from. Through the B.H.M.S. Career Days, our students can apply and get an internship or job placement in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean Islands.
Sandals Resorts
Sandals & Beaches Resorts was from the first guests of the ‘Meet the Industry – Career Days’ Event and gave a guest lecture on the operations of ultra-inclusive resorts and how they stay attractive in the competitive market. Ms. Marion Weinbeer-Holding, Group Internship Coordinator at Sandals & Beaches Resorts International, and Ms. Nicole De Souza, Consultant at Sandals & Beaches Resorts International, spoke about the different training options for our students, with attractive opportunities in departments such as; Front Desk, Concierge, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Spa reception, Gift Shop, Sales, Weddings and Events organization, among others. They also gave an insight into life in the Caribbean, where they operate properties in Jamaica, Bahamas, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados and Grenada.
Sealogical Crew
As the hospitality industry seeks to create numerous jobs throughout the world and the possibility to work at sea may be considered as an alternative, yet attractive opportunity for some, the Sealogical Crew paid a visit and shared valuable information, and the B.H.M.S. students who learnt about the exciting life aboard Super Luxury Yachts. Managing Director, Mr. Thijs van Dooren and Ms. Vibeke Hain (Crew Director), gave a presentation on the different internship options for students aboard these majestic sea vessels.
HRC International
Another visit at B.H.M.S. was paid by the HRC International who offered to highly motivated students and alumni, Internship opportunities in Rooms Division, Culinary Arts and F&B Service at luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants all over the USA!
Ms. Kelly Van Woezik, Talent Search Manager, and Ms. Mayra Quintero, Career Consultant, introduced the training program during a presentation and answered all students’ questions.
Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to give a personal interview for their training in the USA.
JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside Disctrict / Montage Hotels & Resorts
B.H.M.S. also welcomed representatives of the Montage Hotels & Resorts and the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District from the United States. They introduced their unique luxury properties to the students and during their presentation, the students learned about the training programs and the MIT (Manager In Training) programs they offer.
Ms. Jessica Johnson, the Corporate Director for Talent Acquisition & Development from Montage Hotels & Resorts, interviewed our students for the following 5 star properties, hotel and resorts.
Montage Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, Montage Park City, Utah, Montage Laguna Beach, California and Montage Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina.
Ms. Katie Emmons, the Recruitment Manager at JW Marriott Savannah interviewed students for different positions for her property which will open in November 2019.
The students had also the chance to meet with Mr. Thomas Riveryran, CEO of Placement International who gave them valuable tips and career advice.
Frenchman's Creek Beach & Country Club
The visitation list continued with Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club, from USA.
The property, which consists of private golf courses, fitness centers tennis courts and spa facilities, also includes luxury private homes, golf villas and waterfront homes.
This array of amenities makes it an ideal training and development place for our students who were given the opportunity to give an interview for 12-month paid internships in Food & Beverage and Culinary Arts positions.
Biltmore Estate
B.H.M.S. also had the pleasure to host Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore Estate representatives, Ms. Dawn McKinney (Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Manager), and Chef Kirk Flore, gave students gained an excellent insight into the uniqueness of being an independent property and what this means for training new and current staff at the largest privately owned house in the United States.
Students also had the opportunity to give a personal interview for the attractive 12-month internship programs in Rooms Division, Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage. Furthermore, the Yummy Jobs representative, Mr. Mark Lees informed students about their attractive internship programs at world-famous destinations such as the Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Como Hotels & Resorts
The last but not least visitor of the 'Meet the Industry - Career Days' Event was Ms. Sarah Gouges, Cluster Director of Human Resources for the two COMO Hotels in London.
Her presentation focused on the COMO brand and their different Hotels and Resorts around the world.
Students gave interviews for 6-12 month Front Office Internships and 18-24 month Management Trainings.
During the management training, students will have the opportunity to work in both properties – the COMO Metropolitan London and Como The Halkin Hotel.
